General
The authenticity and security of the e-signature is ensured by the declared trust service of ID&Trust Ltd.’s trust service registered by NMHH. ID&Trust Ltd. is the developer of the Hungarian eID card and the GoodID multifunctional digital id wallet mobile application.
GoodID is a multifunctional digital wallet where you can manage and share your personal data yourself, so you can use any service quickly, easily and securely. With GoodID you can securely store your documents, identify yourself online, access websites and sign electronically. All with just a few clicks and securely.
So, in addition to electronic signatures, the GoodID mobile app is a great way to store your documents securely in digital format on your mobile phone (and even hold your loyalty cards). And it’s free to use.
Firstly, we reassure you that the use of the GoodID digital wallet is protected by a 6-character PIN code. Additionally, we recommend visiting the https://revocation.goodid.net website, providing a verified email address that you have previously registered in the GoodID app and follow the instructions you receive in the email. The app will become useless for signature and other security functions (identification, login, etc.) on the respective device within a maximum of 60 minutes. If you enabled the backup function on your previous phone, you can restore the app to its backup state when installing it on the new device. With some service providers, you may have to perform the personal identification again on your new phone, but your portal registration and account will still remain.
Your registration on the ittírdalá.hu signature portal will remain active. You will need to complete a few steps using GoodID as your login and authentication tool. Due to the advanced security features of GoodID, data does not transfer automatically when changing phones, so we recommend using the GoodID backup feature on your old phone to restore your data to your new phone.
The electronic signatures provided by the ittírdalá.hu signature portal comply with the provisions of the eIDAS Regulation, making them fully accepted within the EU. Depending on the type of electronic signature – i.e. Advanced Electronic Signature (AES) or Qualified Electronic Signature (QES) – the legal environment in the EU and other countries around the world determines which type of signature is suitable for a particular legal case. The most essential principle is: “An electronic signature shall not be denied legal effect and admissibility as evidence in legal proceedings solely on the grounds that it is in an electronic form or that it does not meet the requirements for qualified electronic signatures.” – Article 25.
The easiest way to check whether an electronically signed PDF document is authentic is to open it directly in a PDF reader (e.g. Acrobat Reader). In Acrobat Reader, a panel (“Signed, all signatures are valid”) appears in the document header, where you can click on the “Details” button to view the signature’s characteristics. For signatures supported by ittírdalá.hu, a visual seal having a QR code is also included in the document’s content.
The visual signature representative is a trustworthy data created by the trust service provider, which is an integral part of the signed PDF document and contains essential information about the signature. The data is primarily contained in the QR code on the stamp, but the most important information (the signatory’s personal data and the signature timestamp) is also displayed in a readable format. By scanning the QR code (can be done with any QR code reader), the trust service provider verifies, decodes, and displays the complete content of the QR code in readable format in a dynamic web page.
The visual representative is clickable, allowing for easy verification of the signature.
By default, the signature stamp is placed in the top right corner of the document, one below the other in the case of multiple signatures. During the signing process with GoodID, it is very easy to move the signature stamp to any other point on the document, for example, to a designated place for the signature, through dragging or clicking. Additionally, the default location of the signature stamp can be overridden. In our blog post, we show how to set the signature’s location on the document: Where should the signature be placed on the document?
Yes. Security is a primary concern in the operation of the ittírdalá.hu signature portal. Signature security is ensured on several levels. ID&Trust Ltd, the operator of GoodID, follows the security standards for trust service providers. The data in the GoodID application is protected by a multi-layer cryptographic process. As a multi-factor authentication tool, the application guarantees that its owner uses the digital wallet.
In the case of an electronic signature created without a trust service, there is no protection for the signer if the authenticity of the signature is questioned. The role of a trust service provider is to guarantee compliance with regulations, confidentiality, and credibility of the signature, i.e., to ensure who, when, and what was signed. In the event of a potential legal dispute, the trust service provider can vouch for the credibility of both the signature and the signer.
ID&Trust Ltd. provides a certified trust service registered with the National Media and Communications Authority for the creation of evidential, advanced electronic signatures. In compliance with legal obligations, ID&Trust also holds liability insurance for this service.
The legal framework for trust services is determined by the European Union, ensuring a predictable and reliable environment for the use of electronic signatures on an international level.
Legal validity and compliance
The ittírdalá.hu electronic signature portal offers both individuals and companies the opportunity to sign electronically. During the signing process, you can easily choose whether you want to sign as an individual or as a legal entity, allowing you to adapt effortlessly and securely to the document type and the purpose of the signature.
You can choose between an Advanced or Qualified Electronic Signature in compliance with the eIDAS Regulation.
- Sign with GoodID: Advanced Electronic Signature
This method provides an advanced electronic signature through the NMHH-registered trust service offered by ID&Trust Kft., ensuring authenticity equivalent to a handwritten signature.
Signature requires a one-time identification in the GoodID mobile app. During this process, the service provider verifies your identity based on your ID document and your selfie.
* For individuals, this signature qualifies as a simple private deed, while for legal entities, it qualifies as a fully probative private deed, according to the Hungarian law.
A document signed with GoodID qualifies as an electronic private deed under Section 109 of the Dáptv. Furthermore, the signature complies with the written form requirement under Section 6:7 of the Civil Code (Ptk.), meaning it is equivalent to a handwritten signature on paper.
Legal declarations and commitments made with a GoodID signature are legally binding.
- Qualified Electronic Signature (QES) – using the eSzemélyi, DÁP or other signing application
Through GoodID, you can also use eSzemélyi, DÁP, or other signing applications to create a qualified electronic signature. This allows you to utilize your preferred signature creation device in the signing process on ittirdala.hu.
If your eSzemélyi (electronic ID card) does not have an active eSignature, or if it has expired, you can use the free eSignature function provided by DÁP.
In Hungary, an electronically signed document with a qualified electronic signature is considered a fully probative private deed*, carrying the highest level of evidentiary value. This makes it legally binding for complex legal transactions and contracts.
* In a paper-based context, such documents typically require two witnesses to confirm the authenticity of the signature.
- Uniquely linked to the signer – The signature is clearly linked to that person.
- Allows signer identification – To ensure the authenticity of the signature, the signer is identified.
- Sole control of the signer – The data used to create the signature (e.g., a private key) is only accessible by the signer.
- Ensures the integrity of signed data – Signing guarantees that the content of a signed document cannot be altered without compromising the validity of the signature.
- Verify its validity later – The validity of the signature and its date can be verified afterwards, for example by using a time stamp.
Without a trust service provider, in the event of a dispute, the disputing party must prove his or her claim in court, based on the evidence presented by him/her.
If the electronic signature is created within the framework of a trust service, the trust service provider has the evidence that clearly proves that the signature complies with the requirements of the advanced electronic signature under the eIDAS Regulation and the current Hungarian legislation.
A qualified electronic signature (QES) is the highest level of electronic signature defined by the eIDAS regulation, which is the equivalent of a handwritten signature in all EU member states. In Hungary, a document signed with a qualified electronic signature is considered a private deed with full probative value.
ittirdala.hu enables the use of a number of qualified electronic signature solutions, such as the signing application provided by eSzemélyi, DÁP and other market service providers (e.g. e-Szignó, Netlock).
- Simple private deed: a simple private deed in civil law is a written document that does not have any special formal requirements, but may have probative value for its issuer.
Characteristics of a simple private deed:
- It does not need to be signed in front of witnesses or a notary public – it is sufficient for the issuer (the person signing) to sign it in his or her own hand.
- It does not have full probative value – in the event of a dispute, it may need to be proven that it was indeed signed by the person concerned.
- Document with electronic signature and time stamp – If a document has an advanced electronic signature and time stamp, it meets the requirement of a handwritten signature and the requirement of writing according to the Civil Code.
- Examples:
- A plain, hand-signed contract
- Debt acknowledgement statement
- Declaration of intent
- Simple Power of Attorney (if the law does not require a more rigorous form)
- It does not need to be signed in front of witnesses or a notary public – it is sufficient for the issuer (the person signing) to sign it in his or her own hand.
- Private deed with full probative value: A private deed with full probative value is a document which, until proven otherwise, proves with full probative force that the signatory of the document has made or accepted the declaration contained therein or has accepted it or recognized it as binding.
Characteristics of a private deed with full probative value:
- Handwritten and signed document – If someone writes a document by hand (e.g. a debt acknowledgement or will) and signs it, it has full probative value.
- If a document is typed or printed, it is signed in the presence of two witnesses – The witnesses must also sign and indicate their names and addresses.
- Countersigned by a lawyer or notary public – If countersigned by a lawyer, it becomes legally conclusive.
- The document shall be duly signed by the person authorised to represent the legal person in accordance with the rules applicable to him/her.
- Document with electronic signature and time stamp – If a document has at least an advanced electronic signature and timestamp based on a qualified certificate, it is considered to be full probative value.
- Examples:
- Consumer loan agreements (e.g. bank loan agreements)
- Apartment rental contracts (if the parties wish to conclude them in this way)
- General powers of attorney
- Real estate sales contracts
- Handwritten and signed document – If someone writes a document by hand (e.g. a debt acknowledgement or will) and signs it, it has full probative value.
- Public deed: An authentic document is a paper-based or electronic document issued by a court, notary public or other authority or administrative body within the scope of its jurisdiction, in a manner that complies with the provisions of the law.

Traditional, hand-signed documents, e.g. sale, lease, employment contracts, etc., labour and other official documents | Simple private deed | Handwritten signature | Advanced Electronic Signature + Timestamp ittirdala.hu + GoodID |
Real estate sales contract, loan agreement, will | Private deed with full probative value | Handwritten signature + 2 witnesses | Qualified electronic signature ittirdala.hu + DÁP |
Notarized contracts, declarations, court judgments, etc. | Public deed | Notarization | Electronic notarial authentication |
An electronic signature created by a private individual with GoodID is guaranteed to comply with the written requirements of the Civil Code, i.e. a handwritten signature. As the signature is created within the framework of ID&Trust Kft.’s trust service registered with the NMHH, the trust service provider has the necessary evidence in the course of a possible evidentiary procedure.
For this reason, electronic signatures created with GoodID have evidential value.
How is this possible? Here, too, let’s start from the traditional signature:
(as a private individual) | (as a representative of a legal entity) |
![]() |
![]() |
Szabó Tamás | Szabó Tamás managing director ID&Trust Kft. |
Simple private deed | Private deed with full probative value |
According to the information provided by the Ministry of Justice in December 2020, the situation is logically the same in the case of electronic signatures:
“according to Section 325 (1) d) of the CPA, a document signed by a legal person becomes a private deed with full probative value if the person entitled to represent it “signed it in accordance with the rules applicable to him“. In the case of companies, the Ctv. contains these rules. Based on this, as in the case of paper-based company registration, only two criteria must be met in the case of electronic company registration: (i) it must be clear from the document itself that the natural person is acting on behalf of the company, and (ii) the company’s representative must actually sign the document (in this case, it must be signed electronically only by the person who signed it).”
Signing tool
Google Play
App Store
- Upload the document you want to sign and/or have others sign.
- Once successfully uploaded, click on the “Next” button.
- Select the signers who will sign the documents.
- Sign the documents using the GoodID mobile application or another supported signing tool (eSzemélyi, DÁP, etc.). If signing with DÁP or another signing application:
- After opening the application, browse for the documents to be signed in the “Aláírandók_goodid” folder (GoodID automatically uploads the documents to this folder).
- Sign the documents following the application’s instructions and upload them back to GoodID (use the sharing function in the app and select “GoodID”).
- Find all signed documents in GoodID. If there are more documents left to sign (e.g., DÁP supports signing only 5 documents at a time), repeat the steps from point (a) as needed.
- Download the signed documents. You will also be notified by email. (Uploaded documents are stored encrypted for a maximum of 60 days, depending on your active package.)
A certificate issued for an electronic signature is valid for 2 years. If it has expired, you can renew it in person at any Government Office for free.
You can activate the feature in the GoodID digital wallet mobile app. When you requested the eSignature feature, you received a blue-edged envelope at the Government Window – or when you received your eSignature by post. Inside the envelope is a blue-coloured so-called eSignature code card. Use this activation PIN on the ePassport data sheet, or start a document upload and GoodID will automatically prompt you. If you can’t find the eSignature code card, you can request it at a Government Window.
The eSignature feature of the Hungarian eID card is currently available for individuals only.
Signature process
- The logged-in user wants to sign two documents themselves first, then have those documents signed by two other people. This can be achieved in a simple signing process in two steps: 1) The subscriber signs the documents using the “I’ll sign it” function. 2) After successful signing, the subscriber uses the “Invite a signatory” and “Add more signatories” functions to specify the names and email addresses of the other two signatories. ittirdala.hu will have the initially signed documents signed first by the first specified signatory, and then the document signed by the first signatory will be signed by the second specified signatory.
- The logged-in user wants to have a document signed by someone else first, and then he also wants to sign the document. This can also be achieved in a simple signing process in one step: the subscriber, in the process, uses the “I’ll invite a signatory” function to specify the invited signatory first, and then specifies his own name and email address. ittirdala.hu will first have the document signed by the signatory provided first, and then the document signed by the subscribing user.
- There are 5 documents, each to be signed by the same 4 individuals. This process is complete when all 4 signatories have signed all 5 documents.
- There are 2 documents, each to be signed in parallel by 40 individuals. This process is complete when all 80 documents have received one signature each.
- There are 80 documents, each to be signed by 2 individuals. This process is complete when all 80 documents have received both signatures.
- A more complex process (combining the previous two): There are 2 documents, each to be signed separately by 40 individuals, and then the 80 signed documents need to be signed by 2 individuals. This process is complete when all 80 documents have received all 3 signatures.
(guidance for choosing the signer in the signing process)
You sign it alone
If no one else besides you needs to sign the document(s), select the “Sign” option. After uploading, you can sign the document and then download the signed copy.
You sign first, and someone else also signs
In this case, also choose the “Sign” option. However, instead of downloading, you should forward the document to others for signing. If you want to be the last to sign, see the next section.
Someone else signs
If you are not the one signing the document(s) but want others to sign instead, select “Invite Signers”.
Someone else signs first, and you sign last
Choose “Invite Signers”, and set yourself as the final signer.
When you send a document for signing, the invited signer will receive a notification email from us containing a link that guides them through the signing process.
To speed up the signing process, it’s a good idea to inform the invited signer in advance that they will soon receive an email from ittirdala.hu requesting their signature.
Once the invited signer has electronically signed the document, we will send you back the signed copy.
ittírdalá.hu pricing is document-based, meaning that a document with multiple signatures still counts as one signed document.
The uploaded documents are stored encrypted on the server of ID&Trust Kft.’s trust service provider, and after starting the signature process – depending on your package – they are automatically deleted after a maximum of 60 days. It is important that you sign (or have them sign) the document during this time.
After starting the signature process, the uploaded documents are stored on the server for a maximum of 60 days, depending on your package, after which they are automatically deleted. If for some reason you cannot sign during this time (or your invited signer does not sign by then), you will no longer have access to the documents. In this case, upload them again.
You can only sign PDF documents electronically. If the document is not in PDF format, we can suggest several solutions. If you only have a Microsoft Word document, you can quickly turn it into a PDF. Open it in Word and save it as another document, selecting PDF as the document type. If you don’t have a Microsoft Word document, you have two options:
- Upload the document to an online PDF conversion site. This works if you created it with other software (e.g. OpenOffice), so you can easily convert it to PDF. Likewise, if you have it as an image – in jpg format – we also recommend this. However, before you choose this, make sure you use a secure website, as this will expose the data in your document to a third ‘party’ (if it is not sensitive data for you, this may be a viable option.)
- If you don’t want to do this, create a Word file of your document and save it as a PDF.
For simple signature processes, the maximum size can be up to 10 MB, while for expert processes, a maximum 100 MB ZIP file can be uploaded. An average document rarely exceeds a few megabytes in file size, so this limit should not be a problem in 99% of cases. If you do have a PDF file larger than this, reduce the size first. There are many online services for this under the name “PDF compress”.
Subscription, billing
Only payment by credit card is available. Payment can be initiated from an invoice confirmation e-mail sent after the order has been placed.
You can order a subscription or buy a pre-paid package after registration.
ittírdalá.hu is available and usable by both individuals and companies. We provide the opportunity for simple and efficient signing processes for everyone, be it an individual user or a business.
The pricing is document-based, as it can be read on the packages.
Document-based pricing makes multiple signatures very cost-effective, and ensures that we can sign documents with invited signatories who are not clients of the ittírdalá.hu service. The essence of document-based pricing is that signature credits are not used per signature, but per document within a signing process, even if several signatories sign the same document.
Document-based pricing applies to non-bulk* signatures within the signature process. So, if I have already signed a document (or had someone sign it), received it back, downloaded it, and then uploaded it again to send it to another person for signature, then this counts as another credit, because I created a new signing process for the latter signature. For this reason, it is advisable to handle multiple signatures within the same whenever possible.
* The number of credits required for bulk signatures that can be created within the expert signature process is adjusted to the number of documents created as a result of the signatures, according to the signature template.
